Doug Wierzba, President
Secure ID, LLC was started in 2002 by Detective Sgt. Doug Wierzba and Crime Prevention Office Craig McEwen. They worked for a police department in Central Wisconsin. After investigating several missing children cases they were determined to find a better way to help. We found parents and caregivers had a hard time describing the missing child due to being so upset and dealing with the stress of the incident. Sometimes the child was with caregivers who didn't know important information about the child. After careful consideration on how to develop better tools to help in situations like this we designed a customized Child ID card and it became our first product.
We would go to local event and set up shop measuring, weighing and photographing child and printing Child ID cards onsite. These cards can help communicate important physical features of a missing child and can be quickly passed on to other searchers.
Over time we added employee badging and partnered with premier identification manufacturers to have the ability to sell complete badging systems.
Craig has since retired but it wouldn't be the business it is today without his help in the early days. Doug has now brought his Son, Brandon, on board to help run the business. Brandon is a natural as he literally grew up in the business!
Our business is headquartered in Madison, WI. We source made in the USA parts and make all of our products locally. It's more expensive but we have better quality control and feel it's the best way to do business.
Even though we are a small, family-owned business, each year we donate a portion of our sales to a local non-profit. Thank you for allowing us to do that!
